Mechanical Engineer (Propulsion) at Dawn Aerospace

Jennifer Blackburne has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Jennifer currently works as a Mechanical Engineer (Propulsion) at Dawn Aerospace since March 2021. Prior to that, they were a Research Associate at the University of Stuttgart from March 2018 to May 2020, where they conducted aeromechanical investigations related to blade vibrations in turbochargers. Jennifer'sresponsibilities included meshing turbines, volutes, and diffusers, fluid simulations, coding in Matlab and Python, and preparing presentations for experts in the field.

Jennifer also has experience as a Master Thesis Student at Martin Aircraft Company in 2017, an Intern at GKN Aerospace in 2016, and a Design Engineer at Vortex Engineering Ltd in 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Student Mechanical Engineer at Windflow Technology Limited in 2014, where they designed gearboxes, drafted and revised drawings, and organized parts in the factory.

Furthermore, Jennifer has prior experience as a Student Mechanical Engineer at Oil Search Limited in 2013. Before starting their engineering career, they worked as a Tennis Counselor at Camp Laurel in 2012 and as a Receptionist at Carlton Dental Care in 2011.

Jennifer Blackburne has a strong educational background in the field of Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering. Jennifer completed their Bachelor of Science summa cum laude at South Dakota State University from 2011 to 2014. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued their MSc in Turbomachinery Aeromechanical University Training (THRUST) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Additionally, they also participated in the THRUST Masters Course at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from 2016 to 2017.
