Alison Devlin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of diversity, inclusion, and consultancy. Alison started their career as a Service Development Manager at Language is Everything Ltd in 2017. Alison then worked as an Interim Diversity and Inclusion Lead at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, where they focused on updating employment policies, reviewing the organization's diversity strategy, and revitalizing the BME Staff Network. Alison also served as an Interim E&D Consultant at London North West University Health Care NHS Trust, where they wrote the trust's E&D Strategy, developed anti-bullying and harassment programs, and worked towards improving diversity and equality in recruitment.

In 1991, they studied at the West London Institute of Higher Education and obtained a Certificate in Health Education. In 1987, they enrolled at Cardiff Metropolitan University and received a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine. Finally, from 1984 to 1987, they attended King Edward VI Sixth Form College in Stourbridge, West Midlands, where they completed their A levels.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Alison Devlin obtained the Chartered Member certification from CIPD in November 2001.
