Mark Osborne

Vice President, Human Resources at Day & Ross

Mark Osborne has more than 20 years of Human Resources experience in multiple sectors including oil and gas, warehousing and distribution, manufacturing and construction.

Most recently, Mark was the Director of Human Resources for Western Canada at DHL Supply Chain from November 2011 to April 2016. In this role, they were responsible for strategic planning supporting business development and operational success with a focus on customer success. Key areas of development included recruiting and retention strategies in a tight labour market including the Oil Sands. Mark also supported business growth by partnering with the business development group in multiple business sectors. Other notable accomplishments during their time at DHL include leading succession planning, talent management, change management, employee engagement and diversity initiatives in Canada and the U.S.

Prior to joining DHL, Mark was the Regional Human Resources Manager for Black & McDonald from January 2007 to January 2012. During their time with Black & McDonald, they managed all aspects of Human Resources for the company's largest business region representing 40% of the company's business and over 2,000 employees. Mark also led special projects including the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Program - JD Edwards for all HR and Health & Safety modules (replacing HRIS). In addition, they successfully re-modeled the company's warehouse operation which saved more than $300K annually from an operating budget of $1.5M and improved performance by $900K YOY.

Mark Osborne is currently the Vice President of Human Resources at Day & Ross. In this role, they are responsible for leading the Human Resources team and supporting the company's business objectives by attracting, developing and retaining top talent. Mark is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Mark Osborne has a diploma in human resources from Durham College, a PLSC in strategic military planning from Land Forces Command and Staff college, and a BA in history from the University of Waterloo. Mark also has a certification in change management from an unspecified institution.

Their manager is William Doherty, Chief Executive Officer. They work with Bruce Morin - Chief Revenue Officer, Michelle Allard - Director, Communications, and Shawn McMahon - Chief Operating Officer.
