Anne Bennett

Head, Africa Americas Division at DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance

Anne Bennett is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in humanitarian initiatives and media development. Currently serving as the Head of the Sub-Saharan Africa Division at DCAF since August 2017, Anne has also held significant roles including Senior Fellow and Visiting Scientist at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, where research focused on public health communication during the 2014 Ebola epidemic. Previous positions include Country Representative in Myanmar for Fondation Hirondelle, Executive Director of Hirondelle USA, and Country Representative in Sierra Leone, where Anne led the establishment of the nation's first independent news service. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's from the University of Geneva, and a postgraduate degree in Cultural Projects for Development from Università degli Studi di Torino.
