Debbie Vermaak

Debbie Vermaak has a wide range of work experience spanning several industries. Debbie began their career as a Junior Programmer at OTK in 1987 and later worked as an Analyst Programmer at South African Breweries from 1990 to 1994. Debbie then joined IBM in 1994 as a Senior IT Specialist Manager, where they stayed until 2008. In 2008, they moved to Anglo American and held various roles, including Head of Infrastructure Services EMEA and Global Head of Procurement for IM. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Programme Manager for De Beers at Anglo American. In 2015, they joined the De Beers Group as the Global IM Manager for Corporate and Assurance and later took on the role of Global IM Manager for the Midstream division. Debbie'smost recent role at De Beers is the CIO, a position they have held since 2020.
