Robin Preston

Robin Preston is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and exploration sector, currently serving as the Technical Reviews Manager in Exploration Technical Services at De Beers Group since June 2006. With a strong background in geology, Robin's roles have included Technical Manager for Southern Africa Exploration and Mantle Petrology Lead, focusing on decision-making support for exploration ventures through the analysis of kimberlite-derived indicator mineral chemistry. Previous positions include Project Geologist in Exploration Analytical Services and Project Geologist in Exploration Evaluation Services at De Beers Group, where Robin managed diamond evaluation projects and implemented quality management systems. Earlier experience includes work as a geological consultant at Shango Solutions and as a Geologist-in-Training at the University of the Witwatersrand. Robin holds a Master's degree in Experimental Petrology and a Postgraduate diploma in management from the University of the Witwatersrand.
