Wilfried Koomen has a diverse work experience in the media industry, spanning over more than a decade. Wilfried has worked in various roles at different companies, honing their skills as a director, cameraman, editor, and researcher.
In 2008, Koomen worked at BNN as a director, cameraman, chief editor, and researcher.
From 2009 to 2012, they worked on documentaries and TV shows, taking on multiple roles at companies such as NTR, MTV Australia, and Tuvalu Media.
In 2013, Koomen joined VPRO where they worked as a director and editor for a brief period, before moving to De Correspondent to take on the responsibilities of director, cameraman, editor, and researcher.
From 2013 to 2017, they worked at KRO-NCRV as a director, cameraman, editor, and researcher on various projects.
In 2018, Koomen returned to KRO-NCRV as a director, editor, cameraman, and researcher, and also served as a consultant for the show "De Vuilnisman" in 2020.

Wilfried Koomen completed their undergraduate education at the University of Amsterdam from 1993 to 1997, earning a Master's degree in History. Additionally, they pursued further studies at Boston College from 1995 to 1996, focusing on Art History. The degree acquired during their time at Boston College is not specified.
