Catrien Spijkerman

Catrien Spijkerman is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in various media sectors. Currently serving as a journalist at Aldus' producties since June 2020, Catrien is involved in producing podcasts, multimedia, exhibitions, and documentaries. As a freelance journalist and editor for Trouw since February 2009, Catrien creates reports and background stories while also holding the role of editorial manager since 2021. Additional freelance contributions have been made to De Groene Amsterdammer and several other publications. Engagements in journalistic research have been undertaken with Onderzoekscollectief Spit and Investico, and Catrien has acted as an outsider-researcher for Project WAVE. Catrien also has experience in teaching journalism at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has worked with VPRO in cultural radio programming. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media from the University of Amsterdam and a Master's degree in Communication Science from Radboud University, both completed with distinction.
