Professor Muyiwa Oyinlola

Professor Muyiwa Oyinlola serves as a Professor of Innovation for Sustainable Development and Director of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development at De Montfort University since December 2015. With extensive experience in research and teaching, Professor Oyinlola leads significant projects such as the Digital Innovations for Transitioning to a Circular Plastic Economy and the Bottle House Project. The academic background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Warwick and a Master's in Education from De Montfort University, along with a Master's in Renewable Energy Engineering from Kingston University and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University. Concurrently, Professor Oyinlola chairs the DITCh Plastic Network and holds a director position at Kólé. Prior roles include teaching and course development on climate change and sustainability at the University of Warwick, internships focused on energy solutions, and experience as Chief Operating Officer at Cobhams Asuquo Music Productions.
