Frans van Bruggen

Frans van Bruggen serves as a Senior Policy Officer specializing in FinTech and Artificial Intelligence at De Nederlandsche Bank since June 2021, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and quantum computing. In addition, Frans is a member of the Editorial Board for Tijdschrift voor Toezicht, contributing to the publication of scientific knowledge for regulators and policymakers. Previous roles include Supervisor of good governance of technology at Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit and Investment Analyst at Randstad Innovation Fund, where responsibilities included sourcing startups and conducting market research in technology. Frans has an extensive educational background, currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration at Utrecht University and studying public values in regulatory practice, along with advanced degrees in philosophy, business, and administration from notable institutions including Harvard University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
