John Long

John Long is a Senior Lecturer in engineering at Deakin University, where John has contributed to teaching in physics, materials science, and electronics since February 1995. In addition to academic instruction, John Long's research focuses on materials testing and engineering education, particularly in online formats. John Long serves as a Guest Editor and co-Editor in Chief for the International Journal on Innovations in Online Education at Begell House Inc. Publishers. Previous roles include Adjunct Lecturer at Deakin College and various positions at Monash University, where research involved microstructure in high-temperature superconductors. John's early career includes work as an Analytical Chemist at General Motors and experience as a teaching assistant and tutor at the University of Michigan-Flint and Mannix College. John Long holds a PhD in Physics from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate of Higher Education from Deakin University, and a BA in Physics and philosophy from the University of Michigan-Flint.
