Silas Xu

Silas Xu is a skilled research professional with extensive experience in the field of biology. Currently serving as a Senior Research Associate I at Debut since October 2022, Silas previously held positions at Bottini Lab, UC San Diego, where the focus included a Master's thesis project on the mutational study of allostery in RPTPα, and the design and kinetic assays of over 100 phosphatase mutants. Additionally, Silas worked as a Teaching/Instruction Assistant at UC San Diego, demonstrating strong communication skills with a 71% overall recommendation from students in various biology courses. Earlier lab experience includes volunteer positions at the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and the Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai, where foundational techniques such as Western Blot, PCR, and cell culture were practiced.
