David Laperrière has worked in a variety of roles in the technology and bioinformatics industries since 1999. David began their career as a Programmer and Mac & PC Support Specialist at Université Laval in 1999. In 2002, they moved to Transcontinental Sodema as a Call Center Technical Support Representative, before the company was acquired by Teleperformance Canada in 2003. In 2004, they completed their M.Sc. in bioinformatics at Université de Montréal - IRIC, where they were later recruited to a full-time position in 2008. In this role, they designed and maintained data analysis pipelines for genomics and transcriptomics projects leveraging the institute high-performance Linux cluster, and contributed to 12 peer-reviewed articles. In 2015, they moved to Université McGill - Vitamin D Molecular Genetics Lab as a Bioinformatician and Data Analyst, where they analyzed ChIP-seq H3K4me1 regions and transcription factor sites of macrophages infected with M. tuberculosis. Results from this work were published in the journal Nucleic Acids Research. Since 2017, they have been working as a Software Developer and Data Analyst for DECIDE4ACTION Inc.
David Laperrière completed a B.Sc.A. in Computer Science from Université Laval between 1999 and 2001. David then pursued a year of Biological Sciences Propaedeutics at Université de Montréal from 2003 to 2004. Finally, they obtained an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from Université de Montréal between 2005 and 2008.
