Dan Tanner, PhD, DABT has extensive experience in the field of toxicology and non-clinical research and development. Dan is currently working as the Senior Director of Non-Clinical R&D, Toxicology, and ADME/DMPK at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Toxicology at the same company.

Before joining Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Tanner worked at Frontage Laboratories, Inc. where they held several roles including Associate Director of Safety and Toxicology, Study Director, Team Leader, and Study Director of Toxicology, PK, and Safety Pharmacology.

Additionally, Dr. Tanner has worked as a Consultant at Tanner Scientific Consulting, providing expert-level review and interpretation of safety assessment study data and producing expert opinion reports. Dan also served as a Study Director at Charles River Laboratories, specializing in preclinical and nonclinical toxicology studies.

Dr. Tanner began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where they conducted research.

Dan Tanner, PhD, DABT, obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biological Sciences from Ohio University in 1996. Dan then completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biology at East Tennessee State University from 1998 to 2000. Following that, they obtained a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The University of New Mexico School of Medicine from 2000 to 2005. In addition, they are also a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT), certified by the American Board of Toxicology, Inc.
