Simon Geilen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Simon started their career as a Stonemason at Kalenborn Naturstein GmbH in 2002 and worked there until 2005. In 2012, they interned as a Media Design Intern at ELSEN Group - CONLOG Logistik & Consulting GmbH. Simon then moved on to Caterham Composites in 2014, working as an Industrial Designer until 2015. Following this, they joined Designbar Solutions GmbH as a Design Engineer from 2015 to 2017. Currently, they are employed at DEDON, where they started as a Design Project Manager in 2017 and later became the Head of Design and Production Quality starting August 2021.
Simon Geilen completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Product Design from the University of Derby, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Simon then pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University, specializing in the field of Industrial Design and Technology, which they completed in 2013. In between their undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Simon engaged in research in Product Design Practice and Strategies at Loughborough University from 2010 to 2011.
