System Architect - C-UAS (m/f/x)

Location: Sterling, VA

Position

Dedrone is actively seeking a Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) Subject Matter Expert to support portfolio requirements management, concept development, technical demonstrations, and systems integration initiatives. Candidate will also support other C-UAS business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Dedrone SME for C-UAS efforts, directly reporting to project leadership to support below activities.
  • Provide customer with CUAS technology integration, assessment, procurement, and operations recommendations.
  • Work with vendors and other team members to develop, execute, and assess C-UAS technology demonstrations and evaluations.
  • Develop, review, and track C-UAS capability gap and requirements activities and related project documents.
  • Develop and review technical assessments of emerging C-UAS technologies and systems.
  • Develop and review technical description documents and test and evaluation plans.
  • Review performer/vendor’s technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop, plan, and support system integration activities and production of related project artifacts.
  • Oversee project activities to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of integration and assessment tasks.
  • Conduct operations and user-level maintenance training for select new CUAS technologies for project stakeholders.
  • Advise program management team on matters affecting project success, schedule, and cost impacts.
  • Represent the organization in meetings and conferences as required.
  • Support additional Dedrone C-UAS opportunities as directed.

Qualification

  • Must have active Secret US Government clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Position will be supported remotely, but must reside in vicinity of the National Capital Region
  • 8+ years relevant C-UAS experience with master’s degree or 12+ years of relevant CUAS experience with bachelor's degree
  • Current knowledge of C-UAS systems, C2 architectures, modalities, and TTPs used to detect, identify, track, and mitigate group 1-3 UAS
  • Knowledge of DHS, DoD, or other law enforcement C-UAS efforts during the last eight years
  • Demonstrated mechanical and field operations knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience using MESH networking communications equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply technical data between both engineers and non-technical system users.
  • Demonstrated high-level tact and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheets, and integrated software applications
  • Non-local travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Public Trust designation
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • FAA part 107 license
