Ph.D., D.Sc., Full professor of Computer Science, Rector’s Deputy for Multimedia Education at the University of Warsaw, past Vice‑Rector at the University. Member of the Polish General Committee of the Informatics Olympiad. Chairman of the Board of the Polish Children’s Fund. President of EUNIS (European University Information Systems Organization) from 2009 until 2015. Author of over 120 papers, reports and books on programming languages, operating systems, software engineering and computer science education. He spent 10 years at some of the leading educational institutions in Western Europe and North America. Member of ACM, IEEE, the Society for Software Engineering, the Polish Mathematical Society and an Honorary Member of the Polish Information Processing Society. Since 1994 he has been the coach of the University of Warsaw teams for the ACM ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest). Currently, he shares coaching duties with Prof. Krzysztof Diks. The University of Warsaw teams regularly advance to the world finals and were crowned world champions at both the 2003 contest held in Beverly Hills, CA and the 2007 competition in Tokyo. Prof. Madey is also the National Organiser of the European Union Contest for Young Scientists.
