Senior Engineer in Photonics Product Development at Deepsight Technology

Danhao Ma has a diverse work experience in the field of photonics and engineering. Starting in 2017, they worked as a research intern at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology Centre, where they modeled strain effects on IIIV Multiple Quantum Well FIN emitters in Lower Energy Electronics System. In 2019, they joined Aptiv as a System Engineering in LiDAR system, contributing to the development of LiDAR sensors for Advanced Driving and Safety. Danhao also conducted research on Si-photonics integrated on-chip FMCW LiDAR system during their time at Aptiv. In 2020, they became a Senior Engineer in Si photonics Tech Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, where they served as the tech lead on customer engagement for Cisco/Acacia transceiver products. Danhao'smost recent role, starting in 2021, is Senior Engineer in Photonics Product Development at DeepSight Technology, where they lead projects on Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) product development, including system evaluation, design, layout, tape-out, testing, and packaging. Throughout their career, Danhao Ma has demonstrated expertise in photonics, electrical development, and engineering in various applications such as bio-medical, data-communication, autonomous driving, and LiDAR systems.

Danhao Ma completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Integrated Photonics and Electronics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Energy Engineering from Penn State University from 2010 to 2015.

In terms of additional certifications, Danhao Ma received an MBA Course Certificate in Drug and Medical Device Development from MIT in June 2022. Danhao also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification for Program Management from GlobalFoundries in October 2020.
