Viraj Kulkarni

Viraj Kulkarni is the current Chief Data Scientist at DeepTek. Viraj was previously a Partner and CTO at CPC Analytics from January 2014 to December 2019. There, they supported Government and private sector clients solve complex socio-politico-economic problems by extracting actionable insights from large and complex datasets. Before that, they were the Founder of Algokraft from January 2013 to December 2018 where they did research and development in the fields of natural language processing and quantitative finance. Additionally, they were a Research Associate at Oneirix Labs from January 2013 to December 2013. Kulkarni has developed data-driven option pricing models using neural networks, a suite of algorithmic trading strategies using combinations of machine learning algorithms, simulation platforms to comprehensively backtest strategies on historical minutely and trade-level data, and an order execution and risk management system to place orders on the National Stock Exchange for equities and derivatives.

Viraj Kulkarni received their Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Viraj then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science from Vishwakarma University - VU. Finally, they received their Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology in Pune.

They are on a team with Apurva Godbole - India Sales Head, Vinit Mandhre - VP, Technology, and Ajit Patil - Co-Founder. Viraj Kulkarni reports to Amit Kharat, Co-founder.
