International Marketing Consultant at Def Jam Recordings

Akosua Scantlebury has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Akosua currently works as an International Marketing Consultant at Def Jam Recordings since 2022. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Marketing & Projects Manager at 0207 Def Jam.

Before joining Def Jam, Akosua worked at Island Records from 2017 to 2020, where they held multiple roles. Akosua started as a Consultant in Marketing & A&R and later became the Urban Division Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for marketing campaigns for various artists and labels, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with international teams and managers. Akosua also oversaw cultural label and artist activities, such as NH Carnival activation and private dinners. Additionally, they served as the Executive Producer and handled marketing for the film "The Intent 2: The Come Up" on behalf of the record label.

Prior to their time at Island Records, Akosua worked at Global Radio from 2012 to 2017. Akosua started as a Radio Producer & Broadcasting Assistant and later became a Music Potential Project Manager.

Before entering the music industry, Akosua worked as a Freelancer from 2008 to 2018, primarily in events and stage management roles. Akosua also worked as a Talent Liaison and Production Assistant.

Akosua'searly career includes roles as a Prince's Trust Team Leader at Newham College of Further Education from 2009 to 2015, a Ceremonies Performer at London 2012 Ceremonies Ltd in 2012, an Events Assistant at Hi8us Media in 2008, and a Junior Intern in Enterprise Collateral Management at Credit Suisse in 2004.

Akosua Scantlebury attended Central Foundation Girls' Sixth Form School from 2003 to 2005. Akosua obtained A-Levels in English Literature, Geography, and Business Studies, as well as a BTEC in Performing Arts (Acting). From 2005 to 2008, they attended London Metropolitan University, where they pursued a degree in Events Management and Music and Media Management.
