Ahmad Khorchid has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ahmad began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto in 2000, where they worked until 2005.
In 2010, they joined Defence Research and Development Canada | Recherche et développement pour la défense Canada, where they held multiple roles. From 2010 to 2011, they served as the Psychosocial Research Portfolio Manager. Later, from 2011 to 2014, they worked as the Manager for Policy and Planning.
In 2014, Ahmad worked as a Senior Advisor at the Privy Council Office before returning to Defence Research and Development Canada | Recherche et développement pour la défense Canada in 2015. There, they served as the Executive Officer until 2016.
For the next four years, from 2016 to 2020, Ahmad worked at the Department of National Defence as the Manager for Corporate Submissions.
Since 2020, Ahmad has been working as the Director of Innovation Integration at Defence Research and Development Canada | Recherche et développement pour la défense Canada.

Ahmad Khorchid completed their education at McGill University. Ahmad first pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Honours Biochemistry from 1991 to 1994. Following this, they continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Experimental Medicine from 1994 to 2000.
