Dugald Thomson is an accomplished professional in the field of underwater acoustics with extensive experience in both military and academic settings. Currently serving as a Project Manager for Marine Mammal Harm Mitigation at Defence Research and Development Canada since January 2018, Dugald also holds the position of Officer in Charge at the Acoustic Data Analysis Centre within the Canadian Armed Forces, leading a team of 45 personnel. As a PhD candidate at Dalhousie University, Dugald focuses on theoretical and applied underwater acoustics and collaborates on the MEOPAR WHaLE project. Previous roles include Underwater Acoustics Research Officer for the Department of National Defence and Acoustic Sensor Operator aboard CP-140 Aurora aircraft. Dugald holds an MSc in Ocean Acoustics from the University of Victoria and a BEng in Electrical Engineering (Communications) from the Royal Military College of Canada.
