Simona Verga

Simona Verga is a Defence Scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada - Centre for Security Science, a position held since July 2006, where contributions include providing Operational Research and Analysis support, developing risk assessment methodologies, applying network analysis for policy development, and enhancing crime prevention measures. Prior experience includes serving as a Physics Lab Coordinator at Carleton University, managing undergraduate labs, and acting as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta, focusing on theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. Early career experience as an Engineering Physicist at the Institute of Microtechnology in Romania involved mathematical modeling and analysis of microstructures. Simona Verga holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Alberta, alongside an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Bucharest.
