Orlando Zambrano

Orlando Zambrano is currently engaged in a role focused on commercial engagement and autonomy at the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) since September 2023, where the objective is to accelerate commercial technology for national security. Prior to this position, Orlando served as Director of Strategy at DroneUp from September 2022 to September 2023 and held a brief role as Operations Advisor at Shield AI in late 2021. Orlando's experience includes three years as Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, a position as Country Director for Alter Global where the focus was on identifying entrepreneurs in challenging environments, and an analyst role at Goldman Sachs in the Real Estate Group. Orlando began a military career as an Airborne Infantry Officer in the US Army from May 2010 to December 2015. Educational credentials include an MBA from Stanford University, an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, and a B.S. in Economics and Arabic from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
