William Wetherill

William Wetherill has a long and varied work experience in the field of cybersecurity. From 2022 to present, they have been the Director of Cybersecurity Operations at DefenseStorm. Prior to this, they were the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2014 to 2022, and the Director of Information Security from 2011 to 2014. William also held roles as a Programmer at Graphic Moxie from 2011 to 2014, a Web Developer and Web Marketing specialist for Self-Employed from 2011 to 2014, a Multimedia Developer at Morvil Advertising + Design Group from 2008 to 2011, a Webmaster and Digital Animation Specialist at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2002 to 2011, and an Application Programmer at Sunstorm Entertainment from 2001 to 2002.

William Wetherill obtained an Associate of Science (AS) from Full Sail University in 1999, specializing in Computer Games and Programming Skills. William has also obtained certifications from PeopleCert, ISACA, (ISC)², and CompTIA, including the ITIL Foundation Level (2021), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) (2020), CISSP (2018), and CompTIA Security+ ce (2014).
