Elen Sallaberry Pinto

Elen Sallaberry Pinto is a public defender and a member of the editorial board for the "Revista Jurídica" at the Defensoria Pública do Estado da Bahia since June 2017. Recently, Elen served as a research assistant at the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy at the University of Essex, focusing on drug policies in Latin America, particularly Brazil, and engaging with government officials and international organizations. Elen's previous roles include researcher at the University of Essex Human Rights Centre Clinic, and various editorial and news production positions at RBS Group and Diário Popular, where coordination of journalistic activities was pivotal. Elen holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex, a Graduate diploma in Human Rights and Social Responsibility, and a Bachelor's in Law and Journalism from Universidade Federal de Pelotas and Universidade Católica de Pelotas.
