Senior Scientific Officer

Alex McKinlay has extensive experience in scientific and technical roles, particularly in environmental and water management. Starting with customer service at Wyevale Garden Centres, Alex transitioned to Southern Water, where responsibilities included compliance monitoring and technical support in wastewater treatment as a Process Scientist and later as a Senior Process Scientist. Currently, Alex serves as a Senior Scientific Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, focusing on ecological assessments of England's water bodies and policy development for the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Bill. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Sussex.
