Janine Galloway has a diverse work experience in user research and design roles. Janine currently serves as the Head of User Research (Interim) at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where they lead a team of 80 professionals and defines the user research vision and strategy for the organization. Prior to that, they held the position of Lead User Researcher at the same department, overseeing research plans and activities across multiple projects.
Janine has also worked as a User Research Manager at Onfido, where they played a key role in maturing the user research team and managing a distributed team of five researchers. Additionally, they served as a Principal Design Researcher at Nationwide Building Society, a Senior User Researcher at OVO, and a Senior User Researcher at Government Digital Service and Citizens Advice, among others.
Throughout their career, Janine has demonstrated their expertise in conducting user research, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and utilizing insights to shape service design and improvement. Janine has worked on various projects in sectors such as government, finance, and energy, always striving to create user-centered experiences and enhance the overall customer journey.
Janine Galloway completed their education at several institutions. In 1990 to 1992, they attended Guildford College of Further & Higher Education and obtained an HND in Business. In 1993 to 1994, they studied at Buckinghamshire New University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Psychology. Additionally, in 1994 they completed the CIM Diploma in Marketing from Brooklands College. Janine also obtained a CIM Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) in the same year.
