Brian Rothenberg

Brian Rothenberg is a Partner at defy.vc, an early stage VC supporting founders in building and scaling exceptional companies. Defy is a new venture capital firm investing $413M of capital via their first two funds. Some of the companies they have backed include Aalto, Fourthwall, Moment House, Novi, OfficeTogether, PerkUp, Perfect Venue, and Thrilling.

Prior to joining defy.vc, Brian was the VP of Growth & GM at Eventbrite, where they spent 6 years and 2 months helping the company grow. Brian also spent a year as a Scout at Sequoia Capital, and a year on the Growth Advisory Council at Y Combinator.

Brian Rothenberg has an MBA from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where they studied finance and general management. Brian also has a B.S. in business administration from the University of Southern California, where they studied entrepreneurship and marketing. While at USC, they were a member of the USC Men's Lacrosse Team and the Team USA West Lacrosse Team. Brian was also a Dean's List student at USC's Marshall School of Business.
