Jocelyn Alter

Jocelyn Alter is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in academic administration and school development. As the co-founder and Head of School at DeKalb Brilliance Academy since July 2019, Jocelyn has implemented a community-centered approach to K-8 education, emphasizing academic excellence and leadership skills. Previously, as Chief Academic Officer at The Kindezi Schools, Jocelyn drove instructional improvements across a network serving 1,200 students. Additional roles include Partner at TNTP, where strategic vision was set for partnerships in urban districts, and Chief of Staff at the NYC Department of Education, overseeing significant policy implementations and staff management. Jocelyn's educational background includes a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU and a BA in Dance and Art from SUNY Brockport.
