Ben Montero is an experienced educator and theatre professional with a strong background in special education and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Theatre Teacher at Del Valle Independent School District since June 2022, Montero specializes in adapting theatre curriculum for Title I middle school students while fostering a culture of empathy, discipline, and leadership through student-led productions. Previously, Montero worked as a Special Education co-teacher at Carmen Schools of Science and Technology, where contributions included sponsoring the Theatre Club. With experience as a Corps Member for Teach For America focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, Montero also has a history as a playwright, with a production of the original play A BALLAD OF THE PAST & FUTURE at The University of Texas at Austin. Montero holds a Master of Arts in Cross Categorical Special Education from Alverno College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
