Sonja Schlesner

Substitute Teacher K-12 at Delavan-Darien School District

Sonja Schlesner is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, agriculture, and hospitality. Since November 2014, Sonja has served as a part-time seasonal bartender and trainer at Alpine Valley Resort. Concurrently, since November 2013, Sonja has been a substitute teacher for grades K-12 at the Delavan-Darien School District. As the owner/operator of Peach Tree Organic Gardens since March 2005, Sonja manages a small organic farm specializing in heirloom vegetables. Sonja has also worked as a self-employed bookkeeper since August 2003, assisting clients in organizing and preparing financial records. Additionally, Sonja has instructed dance and gymnastics for CSA Kids since October 2012, catering to students aged 1-14. Earlier experience includes a role as a Post Doctoral Research Assistant in Mycology at The Field Museum, where Sonja collaborated with high school students on a fungal survey project. Sonja holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Aspects of Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and furthered education at William Rainery Harper College.
