Lossie Freeman is the current Director at Delaware Community Foundation. Lossie has a long and impressive work history, having served in various positions involving economic policy research, job creation initiatives, and financial development.
Freeman began their career as an economic policy researcher for the International Rescue Committee, an NGO that provides relief for refugees and others affected by conflict or disaster. During their time with the IRC, they authored a field guide on Implementing Youth Financial Services, which was later edited and published into a comprehensive Youth Services guide that was distributed to field agents in over 20 countries.
After their time with the International Rescue Committee, Freeman took on the role of VP Finance and Economic Development for Parnassus Global Agency. In this position, they were responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and developing economic opportunities.
In January 2017, Freeman began working for the City of Wilmington as Special Assistant to the Mayor on Employment Initiatives. In this role, they coordinate the Administration's efforts to create jobs in partnership with the business community and identify job skills training opportunities. Lossie has also developed employment infrastructure for the recruitment, training, and placement of unemployed citizens.

Lossie Freeman has a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Lossie started their educational career at Salem College, where they earned their B.A. in Economics. Lossie then continued their studies at East China University of Technology in Shanghai, P.R.C., where they completed coursework in International Banking and International Trade. Finally, they studied at the University of International Relations in Beijing, P.R.C., where they completed the Center for International Education Chinese Language Studies program.
