Terry Franklin has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of technology and systems administration. Starting in 1996, Terry worked as a System Administrator at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where they played a key role in supporting Solaris systems and Oracle databases and automating DNA sequence analysis. They then moved on to roles as a Technical Specialist at Mobile Systems International, a UNIX Administrator at Corporate Express, and a Technical Analyst at Marconi Wireless.
In 2003, Terry joined Concentra as a UNIX Administrator and later transitioned to a Senior UNIX Administrator role at Nokia in 2004. From 2007 to 2013, they served as a Senior System Engineer at Southwest Airlines, where they collaborated with different teams to design, build, and maintain systems for airline operations. During this time, Terry also worked on P2V migrations, hardware installation, and maintenance, and ensured compliance with industry standards.
In 2013, Terry joined Amazon Web Services as a Systems Engineer, specializing in AWS Elastic Block Storage. They took on various responsibilities, including developing web interfaces, managing data center migrations, installing and configuring EBS components, handling customer issues, and managing service limits.
In 2015, Terry transitioned to Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp., where they held multiple roles. Initially, they served as a Senior Cloud Engineer, followed by a role as a Production IT Manager, and finally as a Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations. During their tenure at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp., Terry played a crucial role in managing cloud infrastructure, overseeing operations, and implementing cloud-related projects.
Terry's most recent work experience is with DELFI Diagnostics, where they held the positions of Director of DevOps and later Senior Director of DevOps.
Throughout their career, Terry has consistently demonstrated expertise in systems administration, cloud infrastructure, and operations management. They have been involved in various projects, developed processes, and documented procedures while leading troubleshooting efforts.
Terry Franklin attended the University of Washington from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology.
