Sef Heijnen

After working in the fermentation industry for 15 years, Sef Heijnen joined Delft Technical University as a full professor and group leader of the Cell Systems Engineering Department in 1988. His research focuses on metabolic engineering and systems biology for industrial microbial processes. In his time as a professor, he authored over 300 papers and supervised over 50 PhD theses. He is an advisor to DSM, Amyris, Genomatica, Lucite, Corbion and DAB.bio.
