Odette Scharenborg is an Associate Professor at the Multimedia Computing Group of Delft University of Technology since June 2018, previously serving as a Speech Researcher at M*Modal and a Visiting Researcher at Delft University of Technology. Scharenborg held the position of Associate Professor at Radboud University Nijmegen from November 2012 to January 2018, focusing on a Vidi-project related to non-native spoken-word recognition in noisy environments. Prior to this, Scharenborg engaged in post-doctoral research at various institutions, including the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, and conducted PhD studies in Linguistics at Radboud University, culminating in a doctoral degree earned in 2005. Scharenborg completed a BA and MA in Automatic Speech Recognition at Radboud University and participated in visiting research programs at leading institutions such as MIT and the Medical Research Council in the UK.
