SVP & Deputy General Counsel at Delta Air Lines

Matthew Knopf joined Delta from the international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, where he was a partner in the Corporate Group and led Dorsey’s firm-wide Mergers and Acquisitions practice, concentrating in the areas of mergers and acquisitions involving publicly and privately held companies, private equity acquisition and divestiture transactions and strategic joint ventures and alliances. Matthew also regularly advised companies on corporate governance and SEC matters.

Matthew’s primary areas of responsibility within the Law Department at Delta include corporate transactions, M&A and strategic alliances, SEC reporting and corporate governance, marketing transactions, financing matters and aircraft transactions.

Matthew received his undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University in New York, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He has repeatedly been named one of “America’s Leading Business Lawyers” by Chambers USA and a “Minnesota Super Lawyer”. Matthew serves as a Trustee on the Walker Art Center Board of Trustees and previously was a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnetonka Center for the Arts.
