Principal Systems Engineer at Delve

Rebecca Spatholt, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of systems engineering and product development. Rebecca currently works as a Principal Systems Engineer at Delve, starting in November 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Staff Systems Engineer at BD from August 2022 to October 2023.

Rebecca also has extensive experience at Johnson & Johnson, where they worked in various roles. From January 2021 to August 2022, they served as a Staff Systems Engineer, leading requirements development and driving architectural design and process decisions. Before that, from February 2017 to January 2021, they worked as an R&D Engineer in Surgical Robotics, and from August 2014 to January 2017, they worked as an Endo-Mechanical Design Engineer.

Rebecca has also worked as a PHD Graduate Student at the University of Cincinnati from April 2010 to July 2014. During this time, they designed and implemented test equipment and experiments for evaluating the in-vivo physiologic function of the ACL. Additionally, they served as a Senior Capstone Design Engineer from September 2009 to March 2010, collaborating across disciplines to design surgical tools.

Rebecca's earlier experiences include R&D Engineering Co-op positions at Procter & Gamble from 2007 to 2009, and a position as a Biomaterials Lab Assistant at the University of Cincinnati from June 2006 to March 2007.

Rebecca Spatholt, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati from 2005 to 2010. Rebecca then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the same university from 2010 to 2015. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in various fields from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including Quantitative Methods in Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering: Documentation and Analysis, Models in Engineering, and Architecture of Complex Systems.
