Nico de Jonghe

Nico De Jonghe has extensive experience in the maritime and dredging industry, currently serving at DEME Group since January 2012 in various roles including Instructeur/Crew Development Coordinator, Simulator Instructor/Auditor, and Captain, focusing on crew motivation, safety, and production optimization on dredging vessels. Prior to that, at Vlaamse Overheid from September 2010 to December 2011, responsibilities included inspecting dredging works on the river Scheldt. At Jan De Nul from July 2000 to September 2010, notable positions included Shore Captain, leading internal audits and training new captains, as well as serving as 1st Mate and Captain, overseeing navigation and dredging operations. Earlier experience at Dredging International from August 1992 to March 2000 as 1st Mate involved navigation and safety during dredging operations.
