Aleshadye Getachew

Aleshadye Getachew currently serves as Senior Counsel at Democracy Forward since September 2023. Prior to this role, Aleshadye held positions at Children's Rights as Senior Staff Attorney and Staff Attorney from September 2021 to August 2023. Experience includes serving as an Associate at Wilkinson Stekloff LLP from April 2016 to July 2021, and at Hogan Lovells from October 2014 to March 2016. Early career included research support for Professor Sheryll Cashin at Georgetown University Law Center, a Summer Associate position at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and law clerk experience at the Public Defender Service. Previous teaching experience includes an 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher role with Teach For America. Aleshadye earned a Bachelor of Science in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.
