Kristan Justice

Kristan Justice is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in special education and youth development. Currently serving as the Director of Special Education at Democracy Prep Public Schools since July 2015, Kristan has also held roles as Assistant Principal and Special Education Teacher. Previously, Kristan was a 2015 NYC Corps member with Teach For America, working as a High School Special Education Teacher until February 2023. Additional experience includes a communications internship at GSK, where Kristan developed a digital assets program and supported communication materials for scholarships, and a Youth Development Specialist position at Chesapeake Center for Youth Development, focusing on leadership and communication skills for youth. Kristan began the career as a Youth Advocate at Youthful Inspirations, teaching writing and journalism to younger students. Kristan holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education and Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and Psychology from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
