Shani Harris-Bagwell

Shani Harris-Bagwell serves as the Executive Director of Portland Backpack since June 2023 and has been a consultant and founder at Bagwell Consulting since November 2019. Shani is actively involved in the Democratic Party of Oregon as a State Central Committee Delegate and Congressional District 3 Delegate since January 2021. As a graduate of Emerge and The Collective PAC's Black Campaign School, Shani has developed a robust political background. Additional leadership experience includes serving as Chair and Vice Chair 1 for Multnomah County Democrats between January and September 2023, and as a Fundraising Consultant for Polity Fundraising & Strategies from November 2021 to May 2022. Prior experience includes roles as an Early Childhood Education Consultant and Political Director at PAALF. Shani holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from McNeese State University and a High School Diploma from French American International School in San Francisco.
