Ion Olaetxea Azkarate-Askatsua

Ion Olaetxea Azkarate-Askatsua has worked for five companies since 2014. Ion began with an internship at Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Biodonostia in 2014 and 2015, where they completed a Bachelor's Thesis. In 2017, they completed a Master's Thesis in SAFER (Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre) at Chalmers tekniska högskola. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a PHD Student at CIC nanoGUNE. Currently, they are a Systems Engineer at Deneb Medical.

Ion Olaetxea Azkarate-Askatsua has a diverse educational background. Ion obtained a Grado en Ingeniería in Biomedical Engineering/Medical from the University of Navarra from 2011 to 2015. Ion then participated in an Erasmus program at Linköping University from 2014 to 2015, where they studied Biomedical Engineering. From 2015 to 2017, they obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Medical from Chalmers University of Technology. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctorado in Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones from the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, which they are expected to complete in 2021. Ion has also obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in 2013, a DALF, Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (C1) from the Ministère de l'Éducation nationale, and Certificado de Nivel de Aptitud de Euskera C1 from the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas. More recently, they have obtained certifications from Coursera Course Certificates, Cámara de Gipuzkoa, ThePowerMBA, edX, and Skills 4 Science.
