Tao Shi has extensive work experience in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. Tao is currently working as the Director of Computational Biology at Denovo Biopharma since 2021. Prior to this, they held the same role at Adagene from 2020 to 2021. Tao also worked at Celgene for 11 years from 2009 to 2020, where they held various positions including Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist, and Computational Biology. Before joining Celgene, Tao worked as a Biostatistician at Sequenom from 2007 to 2009 and as a Senior Scientist in Bioinformatics/Biomarker Support at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics from 2005 to 2007. Tao started their career as a Statistical/Bioinformatics Consultant at Johnson & Johnson PRD in 2004.

Tao Shi has an extensive education background in the field of life sciences. Starting in 1996, Tao obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from UCLA. Following that, from 1997 to 2000, Tao pursued a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco. During this time, Tao was also a PhD candidate in the same field. Tao then returned to UCLA and earned a Master's degree in Biostatistics from 2000 to 2003. Continuing their studies at UCLA, Tao completed a Ph.D. in Human Genetics from 2000 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Tao obtained a certification in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in June 2019.
