Brooke Byrd

Brooke Byrd has a diverse background in social services and criminal justice. Brooke is currently working as a DATA Director at the Denver District Attorney's Office since October 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Human Trafficking Specialist for the State of Colorado from August 2019 to November 2021. From September 2015 to August 2019, Brooke worked as a Lead Social Caseworker for the Sex Abuse Intervention Team at Denver Human Services. Brooke gained experience as a Youth Counselor at The Denver Family Crisis Center from September 2013 to September 2015. Brooke also has experience as a Corrections Officer at the Douglas County Correctional Facility from November 2006 to July 2013, and as a Youth Care Worker at The Villages from March 2012 to May 2013. Brooke began their career in social services as a Student Intern at the Kansas Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence from August 2011 to May 2012 and as a Field Experience provider at St. Francis Community Services from October 2010 to July 2011.

Brooke Byrd's education history begins with their attendance at Manhattan High School West/East Campus. Brooke then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Criminology at Kansas State University from 2001 to 2006. During the same period, they also earned a Master's degree in Social Work, with a focus on Administration & Advocacy, from The University of Kansas.

In addition to their formal education, Brooke Byrd obtained several certifications. In August 2001, they obtained a Kansas Manicurist License from the Kansas Board of Cosmetology. In October 2012, they obtained Heartsaver, First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association. Lastly, in January 2015, they obtained the Colorado Case Worker certification from the State of Colorado.
