Katie Hechavarria

Katie Hechavarria has over 15 years of experience in financial and operational roles, currently serving as Executive Director at Denver Public Schools since June 2011, with previous positions including Director and Senior Manager. Prior to this, Katie held the role of Accounting Tech III at Colorado State University, managing budgets and forecasting for departmental grants. Experience also includes serving as Account Executive at PHYSICIAN'S ALLY, INC, where responsibilities included negotiating contracts with health insurance plans, and Director at Jackson National Life Insurance, focusing on sales forecasts and financial accuracy. Earlier, Katie worked at Merrill Lynch as a Project Manager, gaining Six Sigma Black Belt certification and leading process improvements, as well as in supervisory roles. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado Christian University, earned between 2006 and 2009.
