Shotwell holds a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Colorado Denver, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, a degree in English Language and Literature from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and a Human Resources Certificate from Employers Council.
