Joselyn Loya

College Advisor, Abraham Lincoln High School at Denver Scholarship Foundation

Joselyn was born and raised in Southwest Denver. More specifically, South Federal Blvd (for those that are familiar, you know)! She graduated from a Title 1 high school and participated in many pre-collegiate programs like Upward Bound, TRIO Talent Search, Inspire, and many more. Her k-12 education and personal identities and experiences as a first-generation student and a woman of color have greatly influenced her work today. Upon graduating from Sheridan High School, she attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins where she received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Now she is back in her community in Southwest Denver working at Abraham Lincoln High School. Being a College Advisor in the community where she grew up feels like the perfect match. Joselyn wants to help students understand their post-secondary options and empower students to choose the option that best fits their goals.
