Mark Bell currently serves as the Deputy Director Head of Service Transformation at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), a position held since July 2021, where Mark leads the award-winning Virtual Machine Environment Replacement (VME-R) programme, modernising the largest VME service estate in both the UK government and Europe. Prior experience at DWP includes roles as Deputy Director - Technology (Health) from 2015 to 2016, overseeing application development and support, as well as serving as an IT Portfolio Manager and Senior IT Project Manager from 2007 to 2014. Mark holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Project Management from the University of Leicester and a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science from Preston Polytechnic.
