Jay Burcham has a diverse work experience in various roles within the US Army and Department of Defense. Jay served as the Chief of Staff for the Department of Defense Education Activity, where they coordinated and managed education programs for Department of Defense dependents. Previously, they served as the Chief of Staff for the Afghanistan Engineer District-North in the US Army Corps of Engineers. Jay also held positions as the Deputy Director and Chief of various divisions within the US Army Installation Management Command. Additionally, they served as the Deputy Director and Chief Operations Officer for the Family Programs Directorate in the US Army Family and MWR Command. Earlier in their career, they served as the Director of Transformation and Stationing Management and Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security for US Army Garrison Wiesbaden. Prior to their civilian service, they served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army.
Jay Burcham completed their high school education at Cupertino High School from 1968 to 1972. Following this, they pursued higher education at Santa Clara University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, graduating in the year 1976.
